Network QUEST, "Quantum Entangled States of Trapped particles".
QUEST is a Research Training Network of the European IHP program, referenced under number HPRN-CT-2000-00121. Its duration is 4 years, starting from june 1st, 2000 The scientific context of the project is quantum information processing. It aims at practical implementations of quantum logic, achieved through the controlled engineering of the quantum state of trapped particles. The project is built upon the complementary expertises of nine european teams, who have a recognized experience in the field of quantum optics. Three subcontractors are associated with the main partners. Implementation and eligibility conditions The primary activity of the network is to provide training to doctoral and post-doctoral fellows, within its fields of scientific excellence : quantum optics, quantum information, signal processing, optical physics, lasers, and related topics.
